COURSES FOR SERVICE USERS

These courses are delivered direct to service users over a period of 7 weeks. This enables the group to bond and build.
Funding for these programmes would come from commissioning organisations direct, or from bids secured to support this delivery. 
We look forward to working with our partners in the statutory and voluntary sectors. Prices for each course are available on request.

ME AND MINE

This seven-week course facilitates the development of a group identity. The course is aimed at women who struggle with attending groups and is designed to reduce isolation and loneliness. The range of art and craft activities will enable the participants to recognize and express their own existing achievements and capabilities and will increase their confidence to engage with new opportunities either individually or as a cohort working with other community projects and organisations. The course comprises seven weekly 2.5 hour sessions.

The course is delivered and facilitated in the following formats:

  • Partner discussion

  • Games and art and craft activities

  • Larger group feedback 

  • Active participation . 

Course aims:

  1. To reduce isolation and loneliness experienced by participants.

  2. To enable participants to learn how to actively participant in a group.

  3. To develop a sense of cohort – in order for women to progress into other activities within their community.

Course objectives:

  1. Provide opportunities for participants identify and recognize what skills and abilities they already have.

  2. To demonstrate their capacity for learning, to provide mutual support and recognition of what they have already achieved.

  3. To explore new ideas, aspirations and opportunities.

  4. To move the participants on – as a group – into other activities within the community.

MY BEST LIFE

This is a 7-week course delivered in 2.5 hour sessions, which facilitates women's recognition of their own abilities and fostering a sense of curiosity and self determination going forward.  This is a natural follow on course from "Me and Mine", but can be a stand alone.


This course is designed to expand women's recognition of their abilities and skills and to encourage discussion and challenge their story so far. 

The course is delivered in a facilitated in the following formats:

  • Partner discussion

  • Games and art and craft activities

  • Larger group feedback 

  • Whole group work 

  • Active participation 

Course aims:

  1. To build a sense of cohort within the group for mutual support and encouragement.

  2. To provide a safe space for women to challenge and question.

  3. To provide a sense of progression from earlier courses/learning experiences.

Course objectives:

  1. Provide opportunities for participants to build on their recognised skills and abilities.

  2. To increase participants' capacity for challenging, exploring and questioning in a safe space

  3. To make aspirations real and achievable.

Appropriate participants:

Those experiencing isolation, lack of motivation and engagement, lower level mental health issues.

WHAT TO SAY WHEN

This seven-week course is designed to empower and support parents and carers in providing accurate information regarding sex and relationships to their children. It aims to provide appropriate information, increase knowledge and skills as well as challenging attitudes in a mutually supportive way. 

The course is delivered and facilitated in the following formats:

  • Partner discussion

  • Games and activities

  • Larger group feedback 

  • Active participation 

The course comprises 7 weekly 2.5 hour sessions.

Course aims:

  1. To provide information and guidance for parents and carers to make informed decisions when talking to their children about sex and relationships.

  2. To enable parents and carers to expand their own knowledge and explore their attitudes and values regarding sex and relationship conversations and interventions.

  3. To provide and opportunity for parents and carers to build their own confidence when talking to their children about difficult subjects, including sex and relationships.

SORRY NOT SORRY

This course is aimed at girls and young women over the age of 12. The most likely delivery point for this course would be in secondary schools, but also in youth groups, girls’ groups and in female sporting activities. The course is self-esteem and activity-based with an opportunity to challenge stereotypes, societal views of women, safety and risk as well as being able to challenge and call out sexual harassment when experienced by self or others.

This course has been written in line with the Ofsted response to the “Everyone’s Invited” campaign.

The course comprises 7 weekly 2.5 hour sessions.

Alongside this course, consultancy and advice is on offer to the organisation hosting or buying in the programme to ensure their policy with regard to sexual harassment challenge, reporting and response is clear and well communicated to all staff and volunteers.

Course aims and objectives:

  1. To offer participants a safe space for discussion and examination of issues facing women right now (ie – feeling safe, feeling heard, feeling empowered).

  2. To promote improved self esteem and confidence through a range of activities.

  3. To provide accurate unbiased information and resources.

  4. To enable participants to make positive choices about their own lives.

Appropriate participants:

Girls and young women participating in girls’ groups, youth settings, school based projects.
